Sydney

So I'm back to where it all began, downtown Sydney.

I left Goondiwindi last Saturday afternoon, and caught a bus (1.5hrs) to Moree, where the following morning I caught the daily countrylink train back to Sydney. I'm staying in the rather basic Sydney Central on Wentworth, but it's cheap, a private room and very central. I lodged my tax return earlier today at travellers express and should hopefully be able to get a bit of money back from the Australian government over the next few weeks.

I fly home on Tuesday, Qantas, arriving back at London Heathrow on Wednesday morning. Hopefully by then flights will have sorted themselves out a bit, and I'll be able to catch my flight back up to Edinburgh in the afternoon. At the moment it's not looking good, with the majority of flights into Edinburgh from london still cancelled, and all carriers from LHR under an obligation to cancel 20% of all their departing flights.

I'm sorry I have no pictures yet - will probably wait till I get home to upload them.

Regarding the masters course; I am starting the middle of September. Looking forward to it, though a little bit scared after reading a few of the module descriptions.

Anyway, more when I get home!

On the way home...

Hi everyone,

It's been a busy few months. After arriving back out here in rural NSW, we went straight back into planting. It's been a mixed season with rain stopping us where it has fallen, and not letting us get on with the job in the places it missed. In any case, we finished our last job last Monday, and I have finished work yesterday. I managed to change my tickets home, so will be flying out of Sydney on Tuesday.

Some good news is that I got into the masters programme at Edinburgh University, to study Geographical Information Systems. It's good to be a student again!

I'll do a more in-depth update soon - pictures included - when I get a chance, but I'm just trying to catch up with everything here in the few minutes I have in an internet cafe.

Speak soon,

Jan.
